Maura James

Working for over a decade with nonprofits, governments, foundations, and in academia Maura knows how organizations succeed and how they fail in creating systemic change. She brings these lessons to her clients and works with them to increase impact and to sustainably grow their organizational capacity.

Starting her career in Washington, D.C., Maura managed over $6 million in funding for a nongovernmental organization. While completing her Masters in International Conflict Studies at King’s College London, Maura worked for a public affairs firm where she managed a trans-Atlantic think tank. She remained in London post-graduation where she worked with a small nonprofit on peace and conflict transformation in the Middle East. Returning to the United States in 2015, Maura worked with social movement leaders across the United States to build capacity and support their leadership development before joining Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
